Cross-Border Network Initiatives of Students Parliaments

Where: Bulgaria & Serbia
When: January-May 2020
Target Group: Students
Organisers: Free Youth Centre (Bulgaria), Open Club (Serbia)
12 student parliaments from Western Bulgaria and Eastern Serbia worked in parallel on joint network initiatives, sharing their results online. The specific network projects were: Deadly Candy (against drug use), Healthy Eating, Famous People and Events (to get to know the neighboring country), To Ban Student Parliaments (to promote student self-government) and, of course, COVID 19 (for living on time of pandemic). You can see the results here: http: //youthregion.net (see Network Projects). The work on network initiatives is part of the "Participation Area" project, which aims to support youth self-government and promote cross-border cooperation in this area. The project is funded by the INTERREG-IPA Bulgaria-Serbia program. More about the project and its achievements can be learned from the web-site mentioned above.

​Youth Fair 2019

​Where: Athens, Greece

Target Group: Youth,  Youth Workers

​The aim of the Youth Fair 2019 was to share knowledge about youth work experiences, methods and structures, strengthen young people's skills through experiential seminars, create a fertile ground for greater interaction and better co-operation of stakeholders, as well as the understanding of the priority areas of the Greek Youth Strategy "Youth '17 -'27" through non-formal learning tools. More than 20 Greek organisations participated in the Youth Fair and more than 10 parallel workshops were organised. In the stands of the participating organizations, visitors were able to get information on the opportunities for youth participation, action and transition in adult life, the skills that youth work can offer them in different socio-cultural environments, different working tools and different approaches of youth workers, as well as the needs and opportunities (educational and professional) in this field.

Origami Club: The importance of communication

Where: Radomir, Bulgaria
When: 20 March 2019
Target Group: Primary school pupils

The activity was organized in a school outside Sofia under a national program. ​The children discussed the subject of rules in communication and teamwork. Non-formal education methods were used together with the origami activities as an example of how important is to listen to each other and work as a team.
